Know Thyself!

We usually ask around kids when they are in schools or colleges, what do you want to be when you grow up? What we generally mean here is what profession do you want to engage in to make a living and the reply we probably get is same the old cliché. Some kids say they want to be doctors, engineers, architects, athletes, executives and others say soldiers, teachers, government employees and still others don't clearly say what they want and very few rare kids say they want to be business owners.

The schools and colleges exclusively impart academic and professional education whereby they teach about being doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects etc and they don't educate about the inner cast of characters. The schools and colleges are designed to keep students ignorant about themselves because the school curriculum keeps them busy and tight that they hardly get time to explore their inner potentials and know their characters.

Robert Kiyosaki, in his book, "Rich Dad's Prophecy," mentions about different cast of characters. Inside each person there are a set of personalities or characters which determine the rest of our future life. The knowledge of inner characters that we display on a daily basis dictate who we will turn out to be in our profession. Therefore it is very important to figure out and know our real characters that operate with in order to conduct our routine businesses of life.

Inside each us, there is a kind of person such as a mean person, a greedy person, a rich person, a poor person, a coward, a crook, a hero, a liar, a lover, a loser, a winner, a victim, a victor, an offender, a leader, a follower, a servant, a master and many more personalities and characters which we act upon daily in a given situation.

It is very important to know these inner parts of you before you take up any profession in life. "A person's choice of character is far more important than a person's choice of profession." Robert Kiyosaki. The coward, greedy, rich or poor, hero or victor, victim or loser etc. will show up in the course of any profession. There are ample real examples of coward, greedy, rich, poor, victor, victim in the world. You can see the world of financial frauds, bribes, corruption, stealing etc. by very well dressed top executives to well established institutes everywhere displaying their cast of characters.

Lesson in characters that we play in our profession is very important and it is needed to keep our future generation a truthful and honest civilization. That is why 'know thyself' applies today to all of us look for job or employments. Whatever we are inside good or bad that we will reflect on the outside at our workplace or in our home. The characters we take upon to conduct the daily business do have some positive or negative impact on the society at large.

Know thyself is indeed required of us to be conscious of who really we are. It is important to be truthful and honest in our everyday transactions because when we tell the truth, truth really sets us free and gives harmony, happiness and a reason to live another day.

Teach the young children the cast of different characters so that they should never be misled in the event of emergency. Don't be surprised when the TV channels flash the breaking news of fraud or corruption by important leaders of the world. It is true that so many people were not conscious about their inner characters that they were hiding in them. Time and time again, those characters do overpower us and make us commit the bad or good whichever gets more focus or passion from our end. Therefore, know yourself enough and be true and honest with integrity.
